ABOUT

Winner of American Songwriter Magazine grand prize for lyric writing, Blair Bodine has been hailed as a “songbird with heart.” Her songs are rich in storytelling traditions, blending folk, pop and Americana. In 2019, Blair released her second album “Phoenix,” co-produced by Grammy award-winner Glenn Barrett. The album features 12 original songs recorded in Nashville and Philadelphia, Blair’s hometown.

Blair is the winner of the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, and a finalist in the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and NewSong Music songwriting competitions. Blair’s musical theatre work has been developed at BMI and Theatre NOW New York. Her original song "Dream Again," penned with composer Daniel Edmonds, was recorded and released by Emmy-award winning Lea Salonga. “Dream Again” was spotlighted by TIME for their 2021 AAPI Lifting Voices event.

“Bodine has a never-ending passion for songwriting that shows up in all areas of her life. In addition to writing and performing her original soul-stirring melodies, Bodine is passionate about music education. A Columbia University graduate, she wrote her thesis on Chinese Ethnomusicology. In other words, Bodine isn’t your cookie cutter singer-songwriter — a fact that has earned her some much-deserved recognition in competitions and festivals across the country.” -NewSong Music

Blair is passionate about the intersection between music and community. She has worked as a teaching artist and fundraiser for World Cafe Live, providing free education programs for the next generation of songwriters and music-makers.
